KnXion – Fun Tetris-like Game
I am sure it comes as no surprise to anyone if I tell you I used to be a huge Tetris fan. I would play the game at home, at school, while having dinner, and so on. It would play it for hours and hours. Even today, when I have a bit of spare time on my hands, I could go for a game of Tetris – but not the classic version, perhaps a variation of the game, just to spice things up a bit.
And so I came across KnXion, a game developed by Random Software, a one-man company. That one man is software developer Richard Jernigan. He says he came up with KnXion because it is a game that he wanted to play. All the games that Random Software distributes came to be simply because Richard Jernigan wanted to play them.
KnXion resembles Tetris becaue blocks keep falling from above – and when they fall, they for structures at the bottom. But you do not control the pieces that come from above, you do not get to place them. What you have to do is click like crazy. You see, the blocks that fall from above bear various colors. You must identify structures formed by similarly colored blocks and click to remove them. Simple, right?
Here are the main rules you need to keep in mind while playing KnXion:
- When you find three or more adjacent blocks with matching colors, click to remove them
- Arrow blocks change colors when clicked
- Wildcard blocks match any color
- Area bombs blow up all nearby blocks
- Color bombs blow up blocks of that color
The KnXion is quite fun to play. Speaking of which, you will be playing it free of charge only during the 15-day trial period. Once that trial period is over, you will have to pay for a license to keep playing. On the upside, the license is quite affordable.
